Lost in a Crowd
"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you."- Isa 26:3
Sometimes the memories come flooding back
Sometimes the memories come flooding back
I get taken out
Everything in me that once was standing tall
Gets takin’ out my the memory of us
What you said
What I said back
Your silence led to my tears
But with one touch my heart melts
I remember it all
It comes in flash backs and echoes
Like waves on the shore
Powerful
Unexpected
Unplanned
There is still this hope inside
That whispers, give it one more try
It’s like running against a hurricane’s wind
There is nothing telling me how this is going to end
Believing against all the odds
Am I crazy?
Or is this faith?
The doubt rushes in like the waves
The wind of circumstances pushes me back
But I hold onto The Rock that is my God
In this storm that tosses me back and forth
Lord help me to do what I know I am suppose to do
To walk in obedience no matter how I feel
To wake up each day and still chose You
God restore what the storm has destroyed
Restore what got broken
Make it whole once again
I thank you for the cracks though
For they allow for your glory to shine
Lord, help me know what to do in the meantime
My prayer and desire these days is but one
As storm cloud rage over head
I desire to get lost in a crowd somewhere
And hold each other tight
If even just for a moment
everything would be alright
everything would be alright
It doesn’t mean there isn’t a storm
Ragging all around
But for once it will be just he and I
Away from watching eyes
He said he wanted to get hit upside the head
Well, there is enough debris
But it seems no matter what we do
We keep being brought back together
Help us see what we need to see
As I run against these hurricane winds
My prayer for us is this:
Lord, bring us back together again
Away from watching eyes
Just for a moment
Can we get lost in a crowd?
And have some peace amidst the storm
