Marriage: A Reflection

One on the things I most look forward to one day is becoming a wife. One of the many reasons i look forward to being married is the picture it is meant to paint to the world. As believer and followers of Jesus Christ, we are to be lights in this dark world. A reflection of Jesus Christ. Marriage is one of those ways that we can show this lost world a beautiful picture of the relationship between Christ and His Church. I am passionate about relationships for this very reason and i think in our world today, even some believers do not take marriage as seriouly as they should. It's meant to be a reflection of Christ. It's meant to bring God glory, and be a wonderful and beautiful thing when God is the center and foundation of it.(doesn't mean it is easy, life isn't a cake walk, we shouldn't make marriage out to be something it isn't. Its not meant to where you find, worth, idenity, value, satisfation..etc. you gotta find that in Jesus...but it is a wonderful and exciting thing created by God). The reason i say all this is, i found a song yesterday, and i listened to it a couple of times before the truth of what the song was saying clicked. We want so much to find that "one" when the reality is, AGAIN, this whole idea should make you even more head over heals in love with Jesus than i hope you already are. I am praying that what i am about to write comes our clear...If we don't have a intimate love relationship with Jesus how in the WORLD do you expect to be able to love another person, and be a reflection of Christ, if you don't even know what its like to have that kind of love with Jesus. God is love.I hope when you hear and listen to the song, and the words that it will maybe make alittle more since, i pray....the truth that marriage is meant to be a reflection of something we already have going with the Lord Jesus Christ!

"Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— 30for we are members of his body. 31"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband." Eph 5:21-33
